This Sunday isn’t just another date on the calendar — it’s the start of something new for NYC WCS.

Sundown Swing will be the very first social hosted by The Platform WCS, and it carries a lot of meaning for us.

For years, West Coast Swing in NYC has thrived because of dancers who believed in creating spaces where people could connect, grow, and celebrate together. Sundown Swing is our way of continuing that tradition — while also building something fresh that reflects the vision and values of The Platform.

More Than a Dance

Sundown Swing isn’t just about music and movement. It’s about:

• Belonging. Creating a place where everyone — whether it’s your first social or your hundredth — feels welcome on the floor.
• Growth. Pairing workshops with social dancing so dancers can learn, experiment, and immediately bring new ideas to life.
• Community. Supporting the neighborhood that supports us by gathering afterward for dinner in Chinatown, keeping our ties strong both inside and outside the studio.

Why "Sundown"?

We chose the name because golden hour feels like the perfect metaphor. It’s that moment when light softens, when the day transitions into something more open, connected, and alive. That’s the spirit we want for this social — a place where people can exhale, dance freely, and carry that glow with them.
